Shea Center Hosts Edwards Lifesciences CEO for Philanthropy Series

Michael Mussallem, chairman and CEO of Orange County-based Edwards Lifesciences Corp., encouraged an audience of 250 business leaders and community leaders at theApril 20 to not fear failure, adding that failure often leads to new directions of success.

It was the third in The Shea Center's annual Business Leaders & Philanthropy Series, hosted in partnership with the Orange County Harvard, Stanford, UCI, UCLA and USC business school alumni associations.

During his address, Mussallem noted that he and his wife Linda each had family members diagnosed with Down Syndrome, the third most common diagnosis seen among the more than 60 disabilities The Shea Center serves.
