SAN LEANDRO, CA — The jackpot for Saturday night's Powerball drawing for $1.6 billion went unclaimed, rolling over to Monday night when the jackpot is expected to grow to $1.9 billion, the largest jackpot in the world, ever, for a lottery game.

While no one won the jackpot, three tickets sold in California had the first five numbers drawn, but not the Powerball. Each of those tickets is worth $1,120,390. One was purchased at a 76 gas station in San Leandro, at 15199 Washington Ave.

The other two tickets were purchased in Susanville in far northern California, and Encinitas in the San Diego area.

Wednesday's drawing produced a ticket worth $1 million sold at a 7-11 store in Milpitas.

If you'd like to check your tickets for a smaller prize, the winning numbers were 28, 45, 53, 56, 69 and the Powerball number was 20.

Saturday was the 40th consecutive drawing without a grand prize winner, tying a record set in 2021. There have been no tickets sold with all six numbers since Aug. 3.

Powerball winners can choose to be paid annually for 29 years or choose a cash option. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

Eleven Powerball jackpots have been claimed in California since the game was launched in 1992.

Indiana and Missouri have had the most jackpot winners, with 39 and 31, respectively.

A Powerball ticket costs $2. For an additional $1 per ticket, players can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times with the Power Play feature. One caveat: The 10X multiplier is only available when the advertised jackpot annuity is $150 million or less.

Lottery officials say about 75 percent of winning tickets over the years were picked by a computer.

Powerball is played in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
