2 Alarm Fire Damages Commercial Building In San Leandro

SAN LEANDRO — A two-alarm fire burned for hours overnight Sunday into Monday at the Georgia-Pacific box plant at 2800 Alvarado St. in San Leandro. The fire is now out.

No injuries were reported.

According to Alameda County Fire Department, around 50 firefighters responded to the fire.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m., Georgia-Pacific wrote on Twitter that the fire was out, and the "facility expects to start back up this morning as scheduled. Thanks to all first responders who helped."

The cause of the blaze is not immediately available.
