SAN LEANDRO, CA — A driver was taken to the hospital Tuesday after crashing into a McDonald's in San Leandro, authorities said.

It's unclear what caused the driver to crash. Photos online by the Alameda County Fire Department show a grey sedan deep inside the dining room of a San Leandro McDonald's along Washington Avenue.

"After confirming the structure was stable, Station 9 crews canceled incoming units, removed damaged door and window frames, and safely backed the vehicle out of the building," the Alameda County Fire Department said.
