2 Men Arrested For San Leandro Stabbing
One man died, while another is fighting for his life, according to police.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Two men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing that killed one man and left another fighting for his life. The stabbings happened late Tuesday night in San Leandro, after four men left an upscale bar and grill. Police have arrested 23-year-old Michael Mendozaroche of Alameda and 23-year-old Alex Fernandez of Oakland.
Both were taken into custody at their homes on Wednesday by San Leandro police detectives. Police revealed on Thursday that they have recovered what could be the murder weapon, discarded near the scene of the crime.
The suspects were identified as a result of interviews and video surveillance. Evidence, including the possible weapon, was also located near the location of the crime that appeared to have been discarded by the suspects.

"So far we know that four men left a nearby restaurant/bar after closing and got into some sort of argument in the parking lot," said San Leandro Police Lieutenant Isaac Benabou. The argument led to a physical altercation where the two victims were stabbed multiple times. "This is an involved case that will require many more hours of work; we want to conduct a complete and thorough investigation for the victims, and to ensure that both suspects are held accountable for their crimes."
