The suspect flipped a U-Turn on the freeway and hit a patrol car head-on, they report.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — A parolee driving a stolen car intentionally crashed into two Alameda County Sheriff's Office patrol cars early Saturday morning, according to the sheriff's office. No one was seriously injured. The driver, whose name has not been released, was arrested with the help of a K9 officer.
Deputies spotted the car around 1:30 a.m. in San Leandro and tried to pull it over for failure to have license plates, the sheriff's office reports. "The driver failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit continued onto I-880 southbound where the suspect intentionally struck two Alameda County patrol vehicles. The suspect made an abrupt U-turn on I-880 where he stuck a patrol vehicle head on."
In addition to the driver, a second person was in the rear seat unconscious because of drugs and alcohol, the sheriff's office reports. He had a pipe and a small amount of black tar heroin on him when found.
