All Day Parking Restrictions Near San Leandro BART Station

SAN LEANDRO, CA — If you ride BART, some parking restrictions are about to go into effect.

Several streets close to the downtown San Leandro BART station will soon see 4-hour parking limits restored. The city is trying to increase parking availability for nearby residents, businesses and short-term commuters.

The changes will affect Callan Avenue, Thorton Street, Parrott Street, and the 1500-1600 blocks of San Leandro Boulevard.

Watch for new signs to signal the implementation. Everything should be complete by sometime next month.

So where should all day BART commuters park?

• the subterranean parking lot at the Marea Alta apartments, 1400 San Leandro Boulevard
• a new above-ground parking structure at the San Leandro Tech Campus, 600 Parrott Street
