Benefit reception at Wine and Waffles supports domestic violence services
Community members come together to raise awareness and funds for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Dear Editor,
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. On October 18th, Vickie and Ken Monize of Wine and Waffles hosted a benefit reception to support Building Futures’ domestic violence services. As many of your readers know, Building Futures operates the Midway Shelter for homeless women and children and Bessie Coleman Court, which houses formerly homeless victims of domestic violence. The agency also has a domestic violence safe house in a confidential location, and leads the City of Alameda Domestic Violence Task Force. Building Futures is grateful to our board members for organizing the event, to the 50 guests who attended and made generous gifts, and to Ken and Vickie for their extraordinarily generous donation of wonderful wine and truly delectable food for all to enjoy! We hope your readers will learn more about Building Futures’ work by visiting www.bfwc.org.
Sincerely,
