Bay Area Security Guard Killed Amid Armed Robbery Attempt
A Bay Area law enforcement agency Saturday were searching for suspects involved with a shooting that left a security guard dead.
OAKLAND, CA — A Bay Area security guard who was shot in the midst of an attempted armed robbery of a news crew died early Saturday morning, police said.
Officials on Saturday were still investigating the shooting, which occurred just before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday on the 300 block of 14th Street in Oakland, according to the Oakland Police Department.
The guard, who has not yet been publicly identified, was struck by gunfire while he was accompanying a news crew working on a story, police said.

The security guard was employed by Star Protection Agency California and works with journalist Stanley Roberts.
Crime Stoppers of Oakland, and the Oakland Police Department, were offering a reward of up to $7,500 leading to the arrest of the person or individuals involved in this crime.
