New West Oakland Food Venture Creates 100 Jobs
The new commercial kitchen supplies food for corporate events and charity.
OAKLAND, CA — A food company that caters to corporate events while also feeding hungry children, has opened a new commercial kitchen in West Oakland. Nybll is using the 12,000 sq. ft. facility to produce farm-to-fork menus for all of its ventures including meal-for-meal matching through The Patra Project.
Nybll Co-Founder & Executive Chef Kristen Thibeault says, “Health is wealth. Clean proteins – especially sourced from plant-focused foods – are the key to achieving this wealth. With this new Oakland location, Nybll can deliver meals at a higher capacity than ever before. At Nybll, we develop peak-performance menus providing software programmers, championship baseball players, and underserved children the necessary fuel for a healthy life.”
The facility has cutting edge appliances to maximize output and efficiency, a vibrant color palette, and lobby entrance with a plush seating area. The interior walls are covered with art pieces curated by West Oakland artist, educator, and former skateboarder Keith “K-Dub” Williams, a local advocate for the West Oakland community.

Nybll’s charitable counterpart, The Patra Project, provides underserved families access to healthy meals. It is funded through meal-for-meal matching for corporate catering orders. Additionally, Nybll collects excess food from corporations for meal donations and accepts donations for a fully stocked fridge in a local school or daycare facility.
