San Leandro Man Creates Stunning Water Bottle Holiday Displays
Each holiday season, Antonio Cardenas builds grand displays in his front yard using water bottles—this year's may be his most ambitious yet.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — If you pass by an enormous, skull-adorned ghost train in San Leandro this month, don't be alarmed — it's just the latest work of water bottle art by Antonio Cardenas, who's been constructing sculptures using plastic bottles in his front yard for the past decade.
After first picking up the hobby around the 2008 recession, Cardenas' creations have grown more ambitious each year, NBC Bay Area reported. Displays have included pirate ships, submarines, and this year's ghost train: a 35-foot-long structure made of 1,000 bottles and decorated with skeletons.
But the display is set to change soon: as the holidays approach, Cardenas plans to swap out the skeletons for teddy bears and transform the display into a "Santa train," according to NBC. Read the full story.
