San Leandro Man Killed in Road Rage Shooting Identified

A woman and two young children were in the car when the victim was shot.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — San Leandro Police have identified the victim of an apparent road rage murder as 45-year-old San Leandro resident Wardell Taliaferro, pictured above. His girlfriend was in the car with him at the time of the shooting, along with an infant and a preschooler. The 4-month-old baby is his child.

No arrests have been announced in the shooting.

In a press release titled "Update to road rage homicide," police called the investigation fluid as they "attempt to establish a motive for this tragic incident."

The shooting happened Sunday night around 9:45 p.m. in the 1900 block of Marina Boulevard.
