San Leandro Police Giving Out Free Ring Cameras. Here's How To Get One

SAN LEANDRO, CA — The San Leandro Police Department is giving out free ring cameras to residents — while supplies last.
The giveaway is meant to provide community members with an additional safety resource, according to the department.
"Don’t wait, once they’re gone, they’re gone," the SLPD said in a statement on social media.

To get one, police say to email the following to communitysafety@sanleandro.org
- Copy of California ID or driver's license
- Proof of San Leandro residency or business ownership
- Utility bill with current San Leandro address
- Phone number
- Whether you'd prefer an outdoor or doorbell camera
- Register the camera with the department's camera registry program
