SAN LEANDRO, CA — Police have arrested a 23-year-old man who allegedly killed his girlfriend earlier this week at an apartment they shared in San Leandro.
Authorities were called about 9:30 a.m. Sunday to the apartment in the 2700 block of Marina Boulevard. Officers were told that the 24-year-old woman had been assaulted and was not responding. She was found lying in bed with significant trauma to her head and upper torso, according to police.
Despite life-saving measures, the woman died at the scene. Her name has not been released.

San Leandro homicide detectives examined the scene and surveillance video, and interviewed witnesses. The victim's boyfriend, Chataron Rose, was suspected in the death and an investigation led to a home in San Francisco associated with the suspect.
Working with police in San Francisco, Rose was taken into custody on Sunday.
