Water Main Breaks Near Fire that Damaged Two San Leandro Businesses

The water main break happened a block from where the fire happened.

Fire officials are investigating a water main break this morning in San Leandro, just a block from where a four-alarm fire damaged two businesses earlier in the morning. At 2:34 a.m., fire officials first received a report of the fire in the 2100 block of Doolittle Drive, near Marina Boulevard.

The fire has since been extinguished, but damaged two businesses, Marina Supermarket and Thrifty Medical Supply. Other businesses in the area may have sustained smoke damage as well, according to Alameda County Fire Department spokeswoman Aisha Knowles.
