SAN LEANDRO, CA — A volunteer with the Alameda County Sheriff's Office went missing Wednesday night in what deputies are calling a suspicious disappearance, a sheriff's spokesman said today.
Karla Ramirez-Segoviano, 21, an Alameda County resident was last seen at about 10 p.m. when she dropped off a friend on 136th Avenue in San Leandro.
Ramirez-Segoviano is a Hispanic woman, 5 feet tall, 160 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair.

But she has no known friends in that area, sheriff's officials said.
"We're just perplexed," sheriff's spokesman Ray Kelly said. Ramirez-Segoviano is a police explorer with the sheriff's office, Kelly said. "This is very unlike her," he said.
Anyone that sees Ramirez-Segoviano is asked to call the sheriff's office at (510) 667-7721.
