Patch Blog: Marketing Your Business with Storytelling

Sharing your story is a fast way for people to connect with YOU and YOUR business. Learn all about it in this article and pick up some tips.

Did you know you are amazing, intriguing and your stories have me on the edge of my seat?

This week as I have been helping the 20 ladies prepare their stories for our BIG Her Story Women's Conference coming up on May 31st, it has been a delight to hear their stories beginning to emerge and blossom.

Your story is powerful and inspiring too and I wanted to share a few thoughts about the power of storytelling:

  • Building your business (getting clients and gaining visibility) happens when you build relationships with people - lots of them!
  • Marketing is really just about connecting and building relationships with a plan
  • Your stories are the fastest way to build strong relationships so that your prospects can know, like and trust you.
  • When you are telling your story (sharing authentically WHO you are) it is critical to use details.  It is the specific details that have us on the edge of our seats!
      • "I couldn't sleep for three nights" is OK
      • But "I got up at 3 AM made my self some hot milk and sat at the kitchen counter and cried" now that is powerful.

I encourage you all to share your authentic stories that shape who you are today.  Share them verbally, in literature, on your website, on your blog...  Share who you are and the perfect clients and customers (even friends) will flock into your life.

Some people won't like your story or agree with it.  That's OK, they are just not a good fit and by telling your authentic story you free them up to move on and find their perfect person instead.

Did you get your Her Story ticket yet? During the event watch 20 women tell the stories that shaped who they are. There will also be mini workshops throughout the day for those of you who want to play with telling your story and honing this powerful skill.  Find out more about the event and meet the 20 women by clicking here.

No matter how trivial or uninteresting you think your story is I can guarantee if you tell it from your heart you will have us on the edge of our seats.  Watch the 20 women bloom and share their stories on May 31st at Her Story.
