Hill-Harbison House Disaster Fair this Saturday

Don’t miss this great opportunity to learn about emergency preparedness, purchase emergency supplies, and dine, all at one venue!  Hill-Harbison House (formerly the Girl Scout House), located at 1841 Alhambra Road, is hosting a Disaster Preparedness Fair this Saturday, June 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (extended an hour due to the number of speakers and booths).

  • Experience a simulated earthquake from 1 to 3 p.m. in the L.A. County Fire Department’s “Shakey Quakey Schoolhouse”
  • Purchase Starbuck’s coffee or food from Sweet & Savory, Jasmine Café, Tony’s Pizza, and Alma B
  • Gather information from Caltech professor, Margaret Vinci, and Caltech seismologist, Kate Hutton, also known as the Earthquake Lady, about the how and why of earthquakes and ham radio communication
  • Learn from Roger Niccol and his dog regarding Pet First Aid and CPR
  • Listen to an American Red Cross representative speak about Emergency Preparedness
  • Acquire earthquake supplies from Earthquake Supply Management, owned by local Steve Morgan
