1. City Shares Engineering & Traffic Survey for Speed Limits (outlooknewspapers.com) — San Marino has completed a detailed 2026 Engineering & Traffic Survey that could change speed limits and signage on 65 roadway segments across 40 city streets. The report, which guides future safety corridors and speed-limit reductions, will go before the City Council on Oct. 14, and residents can review the draft now on the city's website.
2. San Marino football rallies past Crescenta Valley (dailynews.com) — San Marino High's football team stayed unbeaten by storming back in the fourth quarter to edge Crescenta Valley 18-14 in their first-ever Boulder League game. The Titans, now 6-0, doubled last season's win total and grabbed an early edge in the league title race alongside rival South Pasadena, thanks to clutch plays on both sides of the ball.
3. 16 Beautiful Botanical Gardens Across America That Are Worth a Visit (newsbreak.com) — One of the standout gardens in this national roundup is The Huntington in San Marino, which blends expansive themed gardens with a major art museum and library. For local residents, it's a reminder that a nationally recognized destination for Japanese, Chinese, and other specialty gardens sits right in town, offering an easy day trip without leaving the neighborhood.
4. Chamber Music Highs, Duly and Officially Noted (independent.com) — Camerata Pacifica's new season will again bring top-tier chamber music to San Marino's Huntington Library as part of a broader Southern California concert series. Programs range from Beethoven sonatas and Rachmaninoff to contemporary premieres and even an all-harp evening, giving local classical fans several chances to hear world-class musicians close to home.
