San Marino National Little League Home Run Derby (Photos)

Baseball fans of all ages came to compete in the San Marino National Little League Home Run Derby Saturday for the chance to be crowned king, queen, prince or princess.

Hundreds showed up to support San Marino National Little League Saturday including actor and local resident Bradley Whitford and Major League Baseball players for the .

Players took the plate to try to score the most runs and be crowned Home Run Derby King or Queen (for players above 15 years old) or Home Run Derby Prince or Princess (for players younger than 15 years old), while San Marino Rotary Club President Steve Talt announced each player.

The event, chaired by San Marino National Little League moms Lillian Lainez, Marci Wendling, and Cindy Metcalf, also included a chili cook-off where 12 contestants competed for the coveted trophy. Residents like former San Marino City Council candidate Dave Foley and the San Marino Fire Department were among those that submitted their homemade chili creations to a panel of local celebrity judges.
