Sherlock Holmes Novel Chosen for Library’s 'One Book, One City'

"The Sherlockian," a New York Times bestselling novel about Arthur Conan Doyle and his fans, has been chosen for Crowell Public Library's 2012 "One Book, One City" program that promotes literacy and community.

Sherlock Holmes has arrived at the in the form of the 2012 One Book, One City selection The Sherlockian, announced on Jan. 5, Sherlock Holmes’ birthday.

Each year, , a program that encourages the community to read and discuss a book together.

The debut novel by Graham Moore, who is also a screenwriter, The Sherlockian is “a mystery about the life of Arthur Conan Doyle and the modern obsessives who devote their lives to the secrets in his books,” Crowell Public Library said in a statement.

To further bring the One Book, One City selection to life, the library will hold related events like movies and storytelling for kids and adults throughout the year.

The library has announced the following programs so far and will announce more details in upcoming weeks:

Ferrell is a professional actor and voiceover artist. She was a 20-year member of the famed West Coast Ensemble and is currently a member of The Production Company, an award-winning theatre group in Hollywood.

A mystery is underway! Come uncover secrets, solve codes and enjoy activities related to the popular book series 39 Clues.
 
March 31: Movie: Harriet the Spy; 2:00 p.m.
