Send Valentines to Cancer Patients
Through the 2012 "Love Notes Around the World" program, people throughout Southern California and abroad have the opportunity to send greeting cards to cancer patients and others affected
The is calling on the public to make Valentine’s Day a bit more festive for cancer patients, survivors and their families through the Love Notes program.

“Our goal is to send a ‘sweet’ message to all that we care and we are here to support the fight against cancer campaign,” said in a statement.
Launched in 2011, “Love Notes” encourages school children and community members to write notes to cancer survivors for Valentine’s Day.

This year, the Love Notes Program will expand across the globe to collect notes from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
The 2012 Love Notes program launched Jan. 18 by mobilizing students from local schools, led by ’s ACS Service Club co-founders , in collaboration with students from Temple City High School, Arcadia High School, Arroyo High School and others.
To encourage participation, the program is asking individuals, families, schools, civic groups, scouting troops, places of worship and other groups to host Valentine Love Note-making or card writing events.

How to Send a Love Note
Cards must be received at the address below at the ACS Office or dropped off at by Feb. 8 to be included for the Feb. 14 presentation at Huntington Hospital.
You can print out a Love Note (attached to this article) or make your own.
Those participating in the program are asked to adhere to the following guidelines:
Please DO…
- Include heartfelt sentiments and sign all cards.
- Entitle cards with generic terms, such as, "Dear Cancer Warrior," "Fighter" or simply, "Patient," or ,"In memory of..."
- There is no limit on cards; the more the merrier.
- Bundle groups of cards in single, large envelopes.

Please DON’T…
- Do not send letters, care packages or monetary gifts. Please use www.relayforlife.org/chinesesouthca for donations.
- Do not include personal information, such as home or email addresses.
- Do not use glitter, as excessive amounts can aggravate health issues of the recipients.
- Do not include inserts of any kind, as they must be removed in the screening process.

All Love Notes will also be on display at the
ACS SCCRFL collects and screens all the mail and volunteers deliver Valentine greetings to cancer patients in their communities.
