Video: Local Author's Book Performed on Stage

Over 500 people attended a performance of scenes from novel "Cliff Falls" and a talk from its San Marino author C.B. Shiepe at the Betty Ford Center in March. See highlights from the performance in this video.

has said that many people have been inspired by his novel Cliff Falls, about a former child star on the run, the effects of fame on the young and recovering from hardship.

Actors based in the Rancho Mirage area, where the performance took place, took it upon themselves to interpret parts of the novel for the stage at the event, while Shiepe was invited to speak at the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences on the Eisenhower Medical Center Campus.

Shiepe shared his own story with the Betty Ford crowd of how he overcame a debilitating illness in a talk titled “Beyond the Falls: Redeeming the Lost Years.”
