3 Charged After Chasing Man With Knife: San Mateo Police
Three San Mateo men are facing assault charges following the Thursday incident, police said.
SAN MATEO, CA — Three San Mateo men are facing assault charges after San Mateo police said they threatened a person and chased them down with knives.
According to San Mateo police, officers were called to a reported stabbing near the unit block of West Hillsdale Boulevard on Thursday. When officers arrived, they found the victim in a parking lot who told police they were uninjured but that their friend had gotten into a fight with a man later identified as 18-year-old Anderson Lopez Guzman.
According to police, the victim told officers that when they tried to stop the fight, Guzman brandished a knife. When the victim ran away, two others later identified as Andy Perez Juarez, 18, and Christian Lima, 19, began chasing the victim. Police said Juarez armed himself with a knife during the chase.

The victim eluded the men and later saw them enter a car and flee the area, police said.
According to authorities, Guzman returned to the fight scene and was arrested by police. Lima and Juarez were detained after returning to the group's abandoned vehicle, police said.

All three were booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
Guzman was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats, while Juarez and Lima were charged with assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy, police said.
