3 SMC Teens Dead In Skyline Boulevard Crash: CHP

Breaking: The CHP says three teens crashed sometime Halloween night. Their bodies were found in the wreckage Wednesday morning.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Three young adults were found dead Wednesday morning in the wreckage of an overnight crash off Skyline Boulevard in unincorporated San Mateo County, the California Highway Patrol reports. One of the men was 19 and two of them were 18. They were residents of Redwood City and Menlo Park.

It's not clear exactly when the Woodside-area crash happened, but the CHP believes it "appeared to have occurred sometime overnight" along Skyline Boulevard, also known as state Highway 35, south of Bear Gulch Road. The crash involving a 2010 Hyundai was spotted around 7:49 a.m. Wednesday by the sheriff's office, who called the CHP to investigate.

"It appears a Hyundai, occupied by three young males was traveling southbound on SR-35 at an undetermined speed sometime during the evening of October 31, 2017," CHP Officer Art Montiel said in a news release. "For unknown reasons, the Hyundai left the west side of the roadway and collided with a tree and came to rest on its wheels approximately 50 feet down the embankment."
