The fire at 815 Sea Spray Ln. has been extinguished, though firefighters remain at the property to monitor and extinguish lingering hot spots and flare-ups. Officials said the blaze no longer poses a threat to the surrounding community.

No residents were injured in the fire. Four firefighters who were hurt battling the blaze are expected to make full recoveries.

The building and the surrounding area remain unsafe as city officials assess the damage. Access to the structure and nearby roads remains limited, and residents have been asked to avoid the area while inspections continue.

People displaced by the fire are encouraged to register at the emergency shelter at the Peninsula Jewish Community Center, 800 Foster City Blvd. The American Red Cross is providing temporary shelter, mental health support, health services, spiritual care and other assistance to affected residents.

The cause remains under investigation.
