• Fake IDs, ID Printer And Boxes Of New iPhones Found In SMC U-Haul: Police (patch.com) — San Mateo police say a theft report at the Bridgepointe Parkway Verizon store led them to a U-Haul loaded with fake IDs, an ID printer, bank cards and unopened iPhones. A 30-year-old New York man was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail on multiple fraud-related suspicions, highlighting an alleged identity-theft operation touching a busy local shopping area.
   

• New Human Services Agency Location at Fashion Island to Open September 14 (smcgov.org) — San Mateo residents will soon have a major new safety‑net hub at 1500 Fashion Island Blvd., where the County Human Services Agency will open a consolidated service center on September 14. The site will host 354 staff, offer food, health coverage and employment assistance, and is expected to serve hundreds of clients daily while saving the County millions in lease costs.
