Beloved Supermarket Closing In SMC After 25 Years
The company said changing market dynamic led to the closure of the longstanding business.
SAN MATEO, CA — Mollie Stone’s Markets announced Monday the impending closure of its San Mateo grocery store, which has been open for 25 years.
The store, on 42nd Avenue just south of the Hillsdale Shopping Center, is the only Mollie Stone’s within the city of San Mateo.
“As a family-owned and operated grocer, being able to run a top-quality market with industry-leading customer service and product variety is always our top priority, so this was not a decision we came to lightly,” CEO Mike Stone said in a press release.
