California's 28 Best Restaurants For 2018: LIST

It's no secret that California is home to some amazing eateries. Across the state, you can find your fare share of healthy salads al fresco, fine dining by candlelight and fresh seafood along the shore. But where are the best spots to grab a bite to eat in the Golden State?

To help all the foodies out there decide some new places to check out, The Daily Mail has once again compiled a list of the "101 Best Restaurants in America." When compiling its rankings, the food and drink website first created a "shortlist" of approximately 700 establishments with food that's top notch, service that's above par and a quality drink/wine list. They also took into consideration the "less easily quantifiable stuff: personality, imagination (or intelligent commitment to a lack of same), consistency."

From there, the editors "reached out to hundreds of restaurant experts of various stripes around the country" for their votes. (Read more about the methodology here.)

"The task of choosing our nation's best restaurants — as our panelists would surely tell you — becomes more difficult every year, because the number of excellent places to eat continues to grow," The Daily Meal said.

In the end, more than a quarter of the final results landed somewhere in California. A total of 28 California restaurants managed to snag a spot on the list, as listed below:
