Caltrain Crossing Gates Malfunction, Causing Traffic Delays In SMC: Caltrain

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Caltrain sent out an alert stating crossing gates were malfunctioning causing heavy traffic in San Mateo and Burlingame Monday morning.

At 10:12 a.m., the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said the issue had been resolved.

At 9:31 a.m. on Monday, Caltrain sent out an alert stating Caltrain is currently experiencing crossing gate malfunctions at street-level crossings in the cities of Burlingame and San Mateo.

"Representatives are responding to the issue, but there is no estimated time for restoration," Caltrain officials said.

Caltrain said significant traffic delays are expected near crossings along the Caltrain corridor and to use alternate routes until further notice.
