City of San Mateo Recruiting for Planning Commission Members
The Planning Commission was established in 1921 and operates as an advisory board to the San Mateo City Council.
The following is a news release from the city of San Mateo:
The City of San Mateo is seeking interested citizens to apply for an open seat on the Planning Commission. The initial appointment is for a partial term through June 10, 2017. The seat is vacant due to Rick Bonilla’s appointment to the City Council. The successful applicant will then be eligible for two four-year terms on the Commission.
The Planning Commission was established in 1921 and operates as an advisory board to the San Mateo City Council. It reviews projects and hears requests related to proposed development throughout San Mateo and holds Public Hearings on elements of the General Plan, changes or additions to zoning ordinances, and other policy documents that may include topics such as Downtown San Mateo, Transit Oriented Development and Housing.

Applications are available on the City’s website or by contacting San Mateo City Clerk, Patrice Olds. Applications must be received by the City Clerk by 5 pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 to be considered.
