College of San Mateo's Fiame Has a Perfect Day
Terra Nova High grad hits a pair of home runs in softball victory.
Freshman Talisa Fiame had a perfect day at the plate Thursday as top-ranked College of San Mateo defeated visiting West Valley, 11-2, in a 5-inning Coast Conference softball game.
Fiame, a second baseman out of Pacifica’s Terra Nova High School, had seven RBIs, including two homers, one a grand slam in the second inning, and went 4-for-4 overall. She also had two singles and scored three runs.

“I never hit a home run in high school,” said Fiame, who was a top player in the Peninsula Athletic League. “The coaching staff here is absolutely amazing. We’ve become better hitters and fielders. This is a higher level, a lot more than high school.”
She has six homers, seven doubles, and 36 RBIs on the sesason and is batting .394.

Capuchino High grad Michele Pilster won her state-leading 21st game, striking out six to increase her state lead in that category to 137.
El Camino High grad Selina Rodriquez went 3-for-4, including a double, drove in a run and scored three runs. Mikayla Conlin went 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
Burlingame grad Natalie Saucedo and Capuchino grad Jamie Navarro each had two hits and scored runs.
CSM, the state’s winningest team, is 28-3 overall, 7-2 in Coast North play. The Bulldogs lead Foothill (19-10, 7-3) by a half game.
The Bulldogs next host Gavilan on Tuesday, March 26, at 3 p.m.
