Coronavirus: San Mateo County Reports 24 New Cases

The latest report brings the countywide total of confirmed cases to 579, but for a second straight day the county reported no new deaths.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA – San Mateo County Health reported 24 new confirmed cases of the new coronavirus Monday, bringing the countywide total of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 579.

The county for a second straight day however reported no new coronavirus-related deaths.

The county has reported 13 known coronavirus-related fatalities, all involving persons 60 years of age or older. Eight of the known deaths have occurred among persons over the age of 80 and three of the COVID-19 patients who died were between the ages of 70 and 80.

More than half (51%) of those who tested positive for COVID-19 are under the age of 50, according to San Mateo County Health.
