Credit Card ‘Skimmer’ Detected At Peninsula 7-Eleven: Cops
A store employee discovered a "skimmer" scanning device attached to their credit card terminal, according to police.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Authorities are urging the public to be cautious while making credit card purchases after a skimming device was detected at a Peninsula 7-Eleven store last week.
Officers at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday responded to a a fraud report at the 293 87th St., 7-Eleven store after a staffer discovered a “skimmer” scanning device attached to their credit card terminal, the Broadmoor Police Department said.
“Officers located video surveillance footage of the suspect, discovering the device was attached” at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
