DEA Drug Take-Back Day: Where San Mateo Residents Can Drop Off Medications
Residents can dispose of unused or expired medications at an event aimed at preventing drug misuse and environmental contamination.
SAN MATEO, CA — San Mateo residents can safely dispose of unused or expired medications Saturday during a prescription drug take-back event at the San Mateo Elks Lodge.
The event, organized as part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s nationwide prescription drug take-back effort, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at San Mateo Elks Lodge No. 1112.
Residents are encouraged to bring unused or expired pills and medication patches they no longer need. Proper disposal can help prevent medications from falling into the wrong hands and keep them out of landfills and waterways, organizers said.
