Disaster-Preparedness Fair For San Mateo Co. Is Saturday
Lunch is free, plus fun activities and exhibits for the family, along with very useful tips to be prepared for whatever may come your way.
SAN MATEO, CA — San Mateo County is hosting its 15 Annual Disaster-Preparedness Fair on Saturday, Sept. 21, a family-friendly event with free food and admission, and the chance to get to know local first responders, from volunteers to professionals.
Attendees can explore fire trucks, SWAT trucks and other emergency-response vehicles, enter the "Smoky Hall & Shake House," see bomb-squad robots or attend classes on CPR and first aid.
Community groups also will be onhand offering tips on planning and resources available to residents during possible disasters.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Mateo Event Center at 1346 Saratoga Drive. Parking is $15.
