"Annie Warbucks" picks up the action 30 seconds after the finale of its smash predecessor, “Annie”, when Child Welfare Commissioner Harriet Doyle arrives on the scene to inform Daddy Warbucks he must marry in sixty days so the newly adopted Annie can have a proper mother. Annie believes that Daddy Warbucks will lose interest in her once he marries, so she runs away. This story reunites her with her old friends from the orphanage as well as a variety of new characters during her adventures as a run-away. In the end, Daddy Warbucks' whirlwind search for a fitting bride uncovers not only a plot by Doyle and her daughter to strip him of his fortune, but also his true feelings for Grace Farrell.
