Grants Of Up To $10K Available For San Mateo Co. Food Businesses

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — San Mateo County microfood businesses can apply for a new round of grants of up to $10,000 beginning Monday.
The funds are intended to offset revenue loss and debt accrued as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses that had less than $50,000 in sales in 2019, recorded at least a 10 percent decrease in revenue from 2019 to 2020 and did not receive a California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant are eligible.
The business must also have started before 2020 and been the main source of the business owner’s income since 2019.

Grants vary by type of business. Cottage food operators would receive $2,500, caterers, food trucks and food carts would get $5,000 and commissaries or incubator kitchen would receive $10,000.
Priority would be given to business owner who are members of a household with a gross household income in 2020 at or below 100 percent of Area Median Income.
