The Bridgepointe Ice Rink is threatened to be demolished soon by developer SPI Holdings who is seeking to replace the beloved rink with retail stores. The land the rink sits on is designated as ICE RINK only and the City Council of San Mateo can vote to keep the rink for the community. Please watch this video which tells our story and then visit our website for more information: www.savesanmateorink.com. Please write the San Mateo City Council and write letters to the editors to all of the local papers. All of this info is on website including an FAQ. Join our email list for updates: savesanmateorink@gmail.com. The City of San Mateo can (and should) keep this rink for the community for which they serve. Everyone wants the rink to stay. It’s only the developer who is seeking to replace the rink with retail. It is likely that the developer wants the change so that he can sell the property and make millions at the expense of all the heartbroken children and citizens of this community.
