Introduction to Backyard Beekeeping, a 1-2 hour workshop designed for teens and adults.

The day is filled with interactive and lively discussions spring boarding from our Bee Basics curriculum which includes life of the honey bee, different ways to start a backyard beehive, how to maintain it and the costs involved.

We lay out our Portable Museum (a collection of our educational boards), an observation hive, and all the equipment a backyard beekeeper will need to begin their hobby.

Space permitting, we use a PowerPoint presentation to illustrate information.

Q & A is highly encouraged!

Program Description: Through The Mighty Bee Project, we offer family friendly, hands-on workshops and lively programs that include interactive educational materials, observation hives, and a variety of educational games to help build community and heighten awareness of the plight of the honey bee. Our goal with Mighty Bee workshops is to demystify and promote backyard beekeeping, as well as teach others simple ways to make a difference
