League of Women Voters Honors California State Senator Jerry Hill

Join the League of Women Voters of North and Central San Mateo County in paying tribute to Senator Hill for his 24 years in public service

The League of Women Voters of North and Central San Mateo County is holding a fundraising luncheon honoring California State Senator Jerry Hill for his outstanding service to the community on February 20 from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the San Mateo Marriott (1770 South Amphlett Blvd., San Mateo 94402). The Honorable Gene Mullin, former assemblyman, will be the Master of Ceremonies and Sue Lempert, the toastmaster.

Senator Hill began his public service career over twenty years ago on the San Mateo City Council and served one year as Mayor. He moved on to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors followed by four years in the California State Assembly. In 2012, he began his tenure as a California State Senate.

On a local level, some of the issues that captured the attention of Senator Hill were homelessness, children’s health, and Bay Area air quality. As an assemblyman, Senator Hill authored a wide range of bills from pipeline safety and foster family protections to child safety seats that were signed into law.
