Man Arrested For DUI After Causing Crash In San Mateo: Police

A man driving under the influence rear ended another car, police said.

SAN MATEO, CA — A 26-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after he rear-ended someone and severely damaged his car on New Years Day in San Mateo.

The San Mateo Police Department said they arrested Juan Solisxar, 26, of San Mateo on Thursday for a DUI.

Police said at around 9:27 p.m. on Thursday, SMPD officers responded to the area of La Selva Street and Casa de Campo Drive following a report of a two-vehicle crash.

Officers said while they spoke with Solisxar they were able to tell he was under the influence of alcohol.

The driver of the other car was treated by medics at the scene and later released, police said.
