Man Strikes Another With Aluminum Pole Multiple Times During Backyard Fight: Police
Two San Mateo men were arrested after an alleged assault at a private residence left one man with significant injuries, police said.
SAN MATEO, CA — Two San Mateo men were arrested after an alleged assault during a fight at a private residence left one man with significant injuries, police said.
Officers responded Thursday at around 9:55 p.m. to the 400 block of East Bellevue Avenue following reports of multiple people involved in a physical altercation in a backyard, San Mateo police said.
Investigators said Deyson Lopez Cardona, 27, allegedly struck another adult male multiple times in the head with an aluminum pole during the incident. Additionally, a second suspect, Abner Lopez Cardona, 18, allegedly committed battery during the altercation, police said.

The victim was evaluated at the scene and transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
Based on probable cause developed during the investigation, officers arrested Deyson Lopez Cardona on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Police also arrested Abner Lopez Cardona on suspicion of battery.
Both men were booked into the San Mateo County Jail on their respective offenses, police said.
