A new pancreatic cancer therapy, PRRT (Rich will explain the physics)
The father of one of our volunteers has finally been accepted for this treatment - after many months of waiting until his health improved. The treatment is also available at Hopkins, I believe but his Stanford doctors advise that the best results are coming from Europe. The video is very interesting - about an hour in duration. Here is her message:
Great news...the volunteer’s dad has tentatively been accepted at two different hospitals in Europe for PRRT. One hospital is located in Basal Switzerland and the other is in a small town called Bad Berka in Germany.

A Heart Warming Tale of Hope
Dear Richard,
Patty Virgilio
Getting a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer shortly after my 50th birthday was not how I expected to usher in this new decade. I had been celebrating my milestone by traveling and shortly after returning home had a nagging, persistent pain in my stomach, so I sought medical advice. My diagnosis was stage III pancreatic cancer with my tumor positioned in such a way that I did not qualify for surgery.
I boosted my attitude and went full force into aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatment. The tumor reduced, and I was then able to have surgery to remove it. Currently, I am receiving more chemo in a clinical trial — whatever it takes to try and keep this aggressive disease away.
I wake each day thinking, “I am as alive today as everyone else. It is how we choose to live each day that matters, and I choose life!”
During Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month I ask you to spread the word so others can be informed about the availability of clinical trials. Call the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s Patient and Liaison Services (PALS) program if you need any information or for a personalized clinical trial search. This organization has the nation’s leading clinical trials database. I recommend this group without hesitation. They truly are trying to change the future of this disease, and do not charge any fees for these exceptional services.
Wishing you well,
Patty Virgilio
