Overnight Burglars Enter Peninsula Home, Demand Money, Police Say
A sleeping elderly man was awoken by two men who entered his home and searched for money, police said.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Two suspects broke into the home of a sleeping elderly man in Foster City Monday night, searched for money and ransacked the home before leaving, police said Wednesday.
The burglary occurred around 10:30 p.m. Monday while the man was sleeping inside his Farragut Street home, police said. The two male suspects shattered a glass door, awaking the victim, who found the suspects in his bedroom shining flashlights, according to police.
The suspects told the man they were looking for money, although the man didn't notice anything missing when he checked his home after the suspects left. He went back to bed and reported the burglary to police the next morning.
