Peninsula Boy Reports Strange Man Tried To Grab Him At School

Sheriff's officials say they are looking for a man who tried to grab the young boy as he was leaving an elementary school restroom.

MILLBRAE, CA — Police are searching for a man suspected of trying to recently accost a boy in a Millbrae elementary school bathroom. The incident happened around 11 a.m. Friday, but the boy didn't report it until a few hours later, officials said.

The student, who is under the age of 10, was leaving a boys' bathroom at Green Hills Elementary School when the person tried to grab him, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

"As the student was exiting the bathroom, the suspect attempted to grab him by his shoulder and hair," sheriff's officials said in a news release. "The student ran away, and then saw the suspect flee the area in an unknown direction."

The suspect was described as a white man, about 30 years old with brown curly long hair and a beard. He was wearing a blue tank top, black pants and yellow or tan boots. The suspect also had a tattoo of a snake around his right shoulder area, police said.

"San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone with children to talk about safety plans and the importance of reporting all suspicious behavior and suspicious people," officials said.
