Peninsula Man’s Body Found In Oregon Waterway

CURRY COUNTY, ORE — The body of a Redwood City man was found in last week in an Oregon waterway, an NBC News affiliate reports.

Hector Camarena, 29, had been missing since Nov. 30. His body was found floating in water near the mouth of the Rogue River near Gold Beach according to the report.

Deputies from the Curry County Sheriff’s Office responding on the scene were able to pull Camarena’s body to shore.

Camarena was reported missing just over a week after he had been rescued from the same waterway according to the report.

On Nov. 21 a man dove into the Rogue River to rescue Camarena, the report said.

Camarena was released from the hospital the next day and driven to the Lobster Creek Campground so he could get his vehicle according to the report.

His vehicle was still parked at the campground when he was reported missing according to the report.
