Peninsula Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested
An investigation that began in 2012 led to 30-year-old Kaylan Freeman's arrest.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A man suspected of sexually assaulting underage girls over a period of more than eight years was arrested Thursday, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities have identified the suspect as 30-year-old Kaylan Freeman, who is from an unincorporated coastal region of the county. An investigation that began in 2012 led to his arrest.
Freeman is responsible for multiple acts of forcible rape and various sexual assaults against victims who were minors according to the Sheriff’s Office.

His identity was unknown until earlier this month when detectives received a break in the case from a witness, authorities said.
Freeman was arrested on suspicion of rape, kidnapping with the intent to commit rape, forcible lewd acts with a child under 14 and stalking among other felony charges, authorities said.

Freeman was taken into custody at his home, authorities said.
Detectives said they believe that there are more victims who have not yet come forward.
