Police Believe Peninsula Arrest Is Tied Other Cases
Two suspects led police on a chase early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

SAN MATEO, CA – Police discovered tools in a van abandoned by two suspects during an early Wednesday morning pursuit, authorities said.
An Oakland man who was among the two suspects that led police on the chase was arrested, police said.
Officers were patrolling the Westwood Knolls East neighborhood of San Mateo at 38th Ave. and King Lane just before 4 a.m., when they noticed a minivan driving unusually slowly that sped off when their car approached the van, in police said.

The suspects who were in the van ran away when their vehicle hit a curb, disabling it according to police.
The driver of the van went through a stop sign and a red light during a pursuit, police said.

A search of the neighborhood resulted in the arrest of Jaime Zelaya Cabrera, police said.
Cabrera, 23, was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, delaying/obstructing an officer, a felony burglary warrant and driving with a suspended license, police said. He was booked into San Mateo County Jail.
Police found tools in the van and believe the two suspects are connected to other cases.
