Possible Break in Triple Homicide — 32 Years Later
Tracy Anderson, Billy Baumgartner and Michael Olson were gunned down during a Payless Drug Store robbery in 1979; now police are alluding to "new information."

Bay City News -- Investigators in San Mateo might have new information regarding an unsolved triple homicide that occurred in the city 32 years ago, according to police.
On Feb. 4, 1979, three Payless Drug Store employees were shot execution-style during a robbery of the business at 666 Concar Ave., San Mateo police said.
Tracy Anderson, 16, Billy Baumgartner, 17, and 24-year-old Michael Olson were killed in the robbery.

"San Mateo Police Department detectives diligently continue to investigate this case," Deputy Chief Michael Callagy said in a statement released Wednesday. "Recently they have developed some new information, which they believe is important to this investigation." The statement adds that "Because this continues to be an open and ongoing investigation, there is no further information available."
Investigators have recently pored over original case notes and evidence in an effort to generate additional information, according to police.

Police remain in contact with the victims' families regarding progress in the case. A $75,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction for the crime.
